1. Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect information you give us directly, including:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile details. If you sign in through a third-party provider (such as Google, Microsoft, or Facebook via our authentication provider), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
- Authentication credentials. If you register with an email and password, your password is handled and stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we do not store your plaintext password.
- Payment information. When you purchase a paid subscription, our third-party payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain limited billing records such as your plan, transaction history, and the last four digits of your payment method.
- Content and preferences. Watchlists, saved research, tickers you follow, settings, and any feedback or communications you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, searches and tickers researched, timestamps, and referring pages.
- Device and log data. IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and general location inferred from IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookies section below.
Information from third parties
We use publicly available data — including filings and data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR system and other market data sources — to power the Service. This is company and market data, not your personal information. We may also receive information from our authentication, analytics, and payment providers as described above.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Process subscriptions, payments, and send billing-related messages;
- Generate and deliver AI-assisted research, summaries, and analysis you request;
- Personalize your experience, such as your watchlists and saved research;
- Understand usage, measure performance, and develop new features (analytics);
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where required by law, we process your information on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service and process subscriptions); your consent (for certain cookies and marketing communications, where applicable); our legitimate interests (to secure, analyze, and improve the Service); and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
| Category of recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers | Hosting, storage, and running the Service |
| Authentication provider | Account sign-up, login, and identity management |
| Payment processor | Processing subscription payments and billing |
| Analytics providers | Understanding usage and improving the Service |
| AI/model service providers | Generating research, summaries, and analysis |
| Professional advisors and authorities | Legal compliance, enforcing our terms, and protecting rights and safety |
We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or notify you of any material changes.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the Service is used. We use:
- Essential cookies required for authentication and core functionality;
- Analytics cookies that help us understand usage and improve the Service.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working. Where required by law, we request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Billing and transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax and accounting laws. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account credentials and notify us of any suspected unauthorized use.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to request a portable copy of your data. You can exercise many of these directly in your account settings, or by contacting us at tickrwise-support@metagraph.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, provides you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. To exercise your rights, contact us at tickrwise-support@metagraph.com. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request; we may require verification of your identity before responding.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International users
The Service is intended for users located in the United States and is not directed to individuals outside the United States. We are based in the United States and process information there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Third-party links and services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
